Two people were charged in federal court on Oct. 5 after a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent’s vehicle in Chicago was rammed, leading the agent to open fire, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Federal prosecutors charged Marimar Martinez, 30, and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, 21, with using their vehicles to assault, impede, and interfere with the duties of federal agents in the city, the DOJ stated.
