A dozen goats were allegedly stolen April 15 from a family-owned dairy farm in Ontario, a city in southwestern San Bernardino County.

Drake Family Farms said in an Instagram post that the thief or thieves allegedly cut their fence and stole the goats, which includes seven that are pregnant, two that had delivered in the past day before they were taken, and three baby goats.

Two kids from the goat that gave birth most recently were not stolen and are doing well, according to the farm, and have been bottle-fed since.

However, one goat taken which had just given birth had pregnancy toxemia and was being treated by the owner and a veterinarian before she was stolen, the post said.

“She needed her Dextrose [Tuesday] morning & is probably dead now,” the farm said on social media.

The farm is asking for the public’s help to locate the goats and is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the alleged thieves.

According to the owners, the stolen goats are Saanen, Alpine, and Nubian goats and are wearing chain, red, or blue collars. They’ve also been tattooed.

The farm reported the thefts to police and is going over the security footage, the post said.

A request for comment or additional information from the Ontario Police Department was not returned on deadline.
