Tony Gonzalez, the ageless tight end for the Atlanta Falcons, may not have played his last season last year.

Multiple team sources told Yahoo Sports that Gonzalez, the second all-time receiver in NFL history and a likely shoo-in for the Hall of Fame, might return to the Falcons for good enough price.

“He will come back if they pay him $7 million and he doesn’t have to do training camp,” an Atlanta player, who wasn’t named, told the website. Another source said, “If we offer him the money, he‘ll most likely be back for one more. He’ll most likely be looking to miss training camp, though.”

Gonzalez, 37, has played 16 seasons but last year said he was “97 percent” likely to retire, according to USA Today. The Falcons fell just short of reaching the Super Bowl last year, losing to the San Francisco 49ers 28-24 the NFC Championship.

However, another source confirmed with USA Today that “there’s a pretty darn good chance that he comes back.”

‘‘He’s been chasing that Super Bowl for a long time. If I was a betting man, I’d say he'd be on the side of trying to come back,” the source continued.

Last season, Gonzalez caught 93 passes for eight touchdowns. He also caught 14 catches in two playoff games.
