All lanes of southbound Interstate Highway 680 in unincorporated Pacheco have been shut down on the morning of Aug. 30, because of a crash involving a truck that has prompted a hazardous materials response, California Highway Patrol and fire officials said.

The crash was reported at 8:06 a.m. at the junction with State Highway 4 and initially blocked all lanes except for the far left one, according to the CHP.

However, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials said at 9:31 a.m. that all lanes had shut down for the hazmat response. Fire and CHP officials did not immediately say what type of hazardous materials were involved in the crash.

According to the CHP, lanes are expected to be closed until at least 10 a.m.
