Around a dozen people were trapped at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, according to reports on Wednesday evening. They were later freed after around two hours.
The were stuck in midair on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and Tom Shroeder with Universal Orlando told ClickOrlando saying his staff did “everything they can to make the guests comfortable.”
Fire crews were deployed to rescue the customers.
According to WFTV, a computer glitch forced the ride into safety mode and stopped it.
The riders were in the vertical position, but not upside down.
As of 8:10 p.m., the customers were trapped on the ride for more than an hour.
Introduced in 2009, the Rip Ride Rocket has a max height of 167 feet and can reach speeds of 65 miles per hour.
