NBA And Player's Association Meet To Negotiate CBA

NBA players rejected the owners’ latest offer, according to the NBA’s website.

“The current offer on the table from the NBA is one that we cannot accept,” players’ association president Derek Fisher said.

Commissioner David Stern had given the Union until Wednesday to accept the latest offer – a 50/50 split of revenue. Though they may want to meet with the owners instead.

In an interview on NBA TV, Stern said that whether he agrees to meet with the Union “would be guided by the labor relations committee.”

If the players don’t accept the current offer, the next proposal would only seem to get worse.

“Our proposal on the table now goes away (Wednesday),” Stern said. “Our next proposal will then go to the players, and we will see where negotiations go.”
