The Unicorns reunion is happening, the band confirmed on Thursday.

The band will open for Arcade Fire at five shows in August.

Two are in Inglewood, California at the beginning of the month (August 1, August 2).

The other three are at Barclays Center in the Brooklyn borough of New York City later in the month (August 22 - August 24).

Dan Deacon will also perform at the shows.

In preparation of reuniting after they last put out an EP in 2004 (titled 2014), the band launched a Twitter account and a Soundcloud account.

Aldan Penner told Pitchfork that the band currently has “no touring plans outside of those shows.”

Fans took to Twitter and expressed their happiness.

“I got married two weeks ago, and this is still the best thing to happen this month,” said one.

“I’m dying omg,” said one other.

“Is this ... is this real?” said another.

“I was born a...person who is supposed to witness the reunion of The Unicorns,” said yet another.
