Iran has started enriching uranium at an above-ground nuclear plant at Natanz to 60 percent fissile purity—its highest level ever—the U.N. nuclear watchdog confirmed on April 17.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed announcements made by Iranian officials on April 16 that it has started the process of enriching at the plant.
