Two Injured in Missouri Light Plane Crash

Two people were seriously injured when a a light plane flipped over while landing at Missouri’s Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

According to a post on the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport Facebook page, the private, two-passenger aircraft flipped while attempting to land around 11 a.m. on Oct.9.
The Cape Girardeau Police and Fire departments, and multiple emergency crews, including EMTs from Scott City, Scott County, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, responded to the scene, KFVS reported.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the two passengers were transported to the St. Francis Medical Center in “moderate to serious condition.”

Cape Girardeau Regional Airport said one runway had to be closed but no other scheduled flights were affected.

Cape Girardeau is about 100 miles south of St. Louis.
