HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Two Huntington Beach police officers were exposed to fentanyl during a traffic stop Nov. 19 in the unincorporated Midway City area of Orange County, authorities said.

Paramedics and a hazardous-materials team were sent to Beach Boulevard and Madison Avenue about 12:30 a.m., according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

The officers were examined at a hospital and released, the Huntington Beach Police Department reported. Orange County health officials were notified.
