Singer Melanie Fiona holds her awards for Best R&B Song and Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Fool For You”) at the 54th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 12. Montreal’s Caroline Robert won Best Recording Package for Arcade Fire’s “Scenes from the Suburbs.” “Canada is blessed with a vibrant music scene that continues to generate award-winning artists and composers appreciated around the globe,” said Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a congratulatory statement. Heritage Minister James Moore also congratulated the pair, saying the Grammys “have once again put Canadian music firmly in the world spotlight. The artists who have represented us at this important event are true international ambassadors of Canadian culture.” Other winners include Adele, Foo Fighters, Kanye West and Jay-Z, and Bon Iver. The event also included a tribute to Whitney Houston, who died Feb. 11 at the age of 48. (Kevork Djansezian (Getty Images)
