On November 17, 2005, Fu Keshu, a retired teacher from the First Elementary School in Kaiyang County of Guizhou Province, and her cousin Xu Genli, went to Jinggang Mountain for a vacation but never returned.
In April 2006, their bodies were found with organs missing. From analyzing medical evidence and other clues, it is suspected that the police may have kidnapped them while they were passing out Falun Gong flyers, tortured them to death, removed their organs, and dumped their bodies in the wilderness to create the likeness of suicides.
The Two Corpses
According to a report on Minghui.net, Xu Genli’s body was found naked on a dry riverbed just below a waterfall. The position of Xu’s corpse hints that he was dragged and placed between nearby rocks. Xu’s head was found shaved with cerebro-spinal fluid visible. Two holes were found on his nose and stitches were found on his chest and abdomen.
Fu Keshu’s body was found on top of the waterfall. She was found topless, with her undergarments wrapped around her head and the rest of her clothes torn. Her eyeballs were missing. Like Xu, her head was also shaved and two holes were found on her nose.
The police deemed the case to be suicides and refused the family’s request for further investigation. The deceased’s family finds the suicide explanation questionable.
Several Suspicious Clues
Both Fu and Xu’s heads were shaved, had two holes on their noses and had hollow and sunken eye sockets. According to medical personnel in ophthalmologist offices, hair and eyebrows must be shaved before a corneal operation to reduce the risks of bacterial infections.
Although both corpses were found in the wilderness, Fu Keshu’s body showed no signs of decomposition, while Xu Genli’s body had already decomposed. Thus the two could not have died at the same time making the police’s claim of a planned suicide pact illogical. Xu’s body was found with his arms positioned over his head, which differs greatly from the characteristics of sudden natural death.
The state of Fu’s body raised even more perplexing questions. Her topless body was swollen from being immersed in water, while her lower body was still clothed, and her feet and calves showed signs of withering and dehydration. If the waterfall had washed Fu’s body into the creek, her entire body should have been swollen. This makes Fu’s body appear to have been deliberately planted in the creek to stage the appearance of a suicide.
Moreover, Fu’s legs were locked straight, which is evidence that her body was dragged or that she had experienced great pain before death.
Review of the Incident
After Fu and Xu failed to return from their tour of Jinggang Mountain, their relatives immediately reported their disappearance to the Public Security authorities and the media. The family also hired villagers familiar with the terrain to search the sites people find most confusing or dangerous. However, no one could locate the victims.
Local police had told the victims’ relatives that Jinggang Mountain Public Security found Falun Gong materials at Huangyangjie on November 18.
Then on December 8, when the family members traveled from Guizhou to Jinggang Mountain to conduct searches, a public security agent brought them in for questioning and asked if the victims practiced Falun Gong and if any of their relatives also practiced.
The police denied that they had arrested the person who distributed the materials.
