Twitter apparently is “deleting” tweets, according to some users, and the company said it is looking in to the alleged error.
“We are currently researching a bug that has caused some Tweets to not be displayed,” the social media firm wrote on its blog on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, a throngs of users complained that their tweets were being “deleted,” with some alleging that there was something nefarious going on behind the scenes.
“Why is twitter deleting tweets?” one person wrote on Tuesday evening.
Said another, “The real question here is why twitter is onlY DELETING THE IMPORTANT TWEETS.”
“Twitter WTF. Why are you deleting memorable tweets. Pathetic,” another tweeted.
“Apparantly twitter is deleting tweets that got many retweets/favorites so like cory’s sharknado tweet and more,” another wrote, apparently referring to “Glee” star Cory Monteith, who died last year. His last tweet was about the TV movie “Sharknado.”
As of Tuesday evening, Monteith’s tweet about “Sharknado” did not appear on his page.
