[xtypo_dropcap]T[/xtypo_dropcap]he annual memorial Tunnels to Tower Run is back on Sunday, Sept. 26. Comedian Dennis Miller and other celebrities are expected to be in the race.
The 5K race, which begins at 9:30 a.m. on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, is paying tribute to 9/11 firefighter Stephen Siller, his 342 colleagues, and all those lost on that day. While Siller was heading toward the World Trade Center, his truck was prohibited from entering the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and therefore he chose to go on foot with his gears. He was last seen alive on West and Liberty Streets.
The registration fee for the run is $60. All children under 12 can enter for free.
