Trump Slams Fake News Over White House ‘Dump’ Story

President Donald Trump on Wednesday night slammed the media for their “totally untrue” story that he called the White House a “dump.”

Trump went on Twitter to say the White House is “one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen,” after a story came out accusing him of criticizing the building to his golf buddies.

He called out the “fake news” media for their reporting. 

“I love the White House, one of the most beautiful buildings (homes) I have ever seen. But Fake News said I called it a dump - TOTALLY UNTRUE,” Trump tweeted.

Golf journalist Alan Shipnuck allegedly said that Trump called the White House “a real dump” compared to his New Jersey Country club.

Shipnuck claims that eight or nine people around the president at the time heard the remark, in a story about posted to Golf Magazine about Trump’s golfing hobby. 

The journalist said that a White House spokeswoman called him to retract the statement, which he says he will not do.
