President Donald Trump Sunday reiterated that Democrat opponent Joe Biden should take a drug test either directly before or after their upcoming debate next week.

Trump suggested that Biden had “uneven” debate performances during the Democratic primary.

“I will be strongly demanding a Drug Test of Sleepy Joe Biden prior to, or after, the Debate on Tuesday night,” Trump wrote at around 10 a.m. on Sunday. “Naturally, I will agree to take one also. His Debate performances have been record setting UNEVEN, to put it mildly. Only drugs could have caused this discrepancy???”
Biden, asked by a reporter about Trump’s claim, said, “He’s almost ... No, I have no comment.”

Several weeks ago, Trump made similar assertions about his opponent, saying Biden had a sudden improvement in his debate performances during the Democratic primary.

“Nobody thought that he was even going to win,” Trump told the Washington Examiner about Biden’s campaign earlier this year. “Because his debate performances were so bad. Frankly, his best performance was against [Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)]. We’re going to call for a drug test, by the way, because his best performance was against Bernie. It wasn’t that he was Winston Churchill because he wasn’t, but it was a normal, boring debate. You know, nothing amazing happened. And we are going to call for a drug test because there’s no way—you can’t do that.”

Trump explained that he doesn’t know how the former vice president “could have been so incompetent in his debate performances and then all of a sudden be OK against Bernie.”

“My point is, if you go back and watch some of those numerous debates, he was so bad. He wasn’t even coherent. And against Bernie, he was. And we’re calling for a drug test,” the president said. “It is a prizefight,” the president stated. “It’s no different from the gladiators, except we have to use our brain and our mouth. And our body to stand. I want all standing; they want to sit down.”

In an interview on Sunday, Trump told Fox News that he is preparing every day for the debate against Biden, which will be held on Tuesday night in Cleveland.

“When you’re president, you sort of see everything that they’re going to be asking. And they may disagree with you, but we’ve done a great job. We created the greatest economy in history,” he said. “And now it’s coming back. We closed it. We saved millions and millions of lives by doing what I did. And now we’re bringing it back.”
