President Donald Trump will travel to the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting during the Senate impeachment trial, a White House adviser said.

“That is the plan. The plan is for the president to go to Davos. He read the delegation, and he’s got a lot to talk about,” Kellyanne Conway, a top adviser to Trump, told reporters outside the White House in Washington on Thursday.

She said Trump is likely to “take on the perils of socialism right there in Davos and talk about what happens when you ... recalibrate, rebalance these major trade deals.” She added that “a lot of the world’s economy can exhale now that China and the U.S. have completed phase one of the trade deal.”

The forum’s meeting will take place in Davos, Switzerland, from Jan. 21 to Jan. 24. The Senate impeachment trial is expected to start on Jan. 21.

Conway also noted that the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal was expected to be passed by the Senate on Jan. 16.

“He‘ll continue to talk about the stock market, getting NATO members to pay up, to provide for the common security. And elsewise, he’ll talk about the global economy,” Conway said.

“He’s got a great message to deliver there in Davos, and the plan is for him to be there.”

Conway said the House’s impeachment case’s gaps have prompted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to repeatedly call for new witnesses and documents.

“He wants the Senate to play clean-up and fill in the many, many gaps and big holes in the House process. But that’s not the way it works,” she said.

“I didn’t say that there wouldn’t be witnesses, or [that] there will. We'll see what the Senate decides. But, again, you’re trying to backfill empty space and blank canvasses that were provided by the House. Where’s the extortion and the bribery?”

She also alleged that Democrats impeached Trump because they’re struggling in the 2020 race.

“Let’s stop lying. Let’s stop pretending that this is about the Ukraine call. This is about getting the president. If they had any faith in all those white people who are left on the Democratic debate stage running for president, if they had any faith they could beat Donald Trump at the ballot box they would put all their energy into that, but instead they want to get the president now. And they can’t, he‘ll be acquitted in the Senate, he won’t be removed from office, and he’ll be re-elected.”
