BUENOS AIRES—President Donald Trump said that he canceled the press conference scheduled at the G20 summit in Argentina, citing 41st President George H. W. Bush’s death. He will wait until after the funeral to hold a conference about the details of the summit, he said.

“I was very much looking forward to having a press conference just prior to leaving Argentina because we have had such great success in our dealing with various countries and their leaders at the G20,” he wrote on Twitter on Dec. 1.

“However, out of respect for the Bush Family and former President George H.W. Bush we will wait until after the funeral to have a press conference.”

Trump told reporters at G20 summit that he spoke with both President George W. Bush and Jeb Bush. President George H. W. Bush “was a wonderful man.”

“One thing that came through loud and clear, he was very proud of his family and very much loved his family.  So he was a terrific guy and he’ll be missed.  And he led a full life, and a very exemplary life too, I will say.”
