Trump 2016 run? Real estate mogul-turned-reality TV star Donald Trump might be considering running for president in 2016.

Trump has been invited to more than a dozen Republican party and conservative events in 2013, a spokesperson told CNN on Monday.

Trump also spent $1 million on “electoral research,” reported the New York Post on Monday.

“The electoral research was commissioned. We did not spend $1 million on this research for it just to sit on my bookshelf,” Trump’s executive vice president and counsel Michael Cohen told the paper.

He added: “At this point Mr. Trump has not made any decision on a political run, but what I would say is that he is exactly what this country needs. The turnout at these political speeches indicates his following remains very strong and is growing.”

In 2000 and 2012, Trump reportedly considered running for the White House.

“Everybody tells me, ‘Please run for president. Please run for president.’ I would be much happier if a great and competent person came along,” Trump recently said at the Michigan Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.

He added, “I’m a Republican, but before anything, I love this country. I would love to see somebody come in who is going to be great.”
