A group of truckers is planning to clog traffic on the Beltway around Washington D.C. and arrest congresspersons for violating their oaths in office.

The group, “Truckers Ride for the Constitution” says on its Facebook page that “The American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America!”

“We therefore declare a national protest in support of our nation’s truckers on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013!”

A spokesperson for the group, Earl Conlon, told U.S. News that the truckers will circle I-495 but will keep the left lane open for emergency vehicles.

“Everybody that doesn’t have a supporter sticker on their window, good luck: Nobody in, nobody out,” he said. People who want to pass the convoy must write T2SDA, he said.

“We want these people arrested, and we’re coming in with the grand jury to do it,” he said. “We are going to ask the law enforcement to uphold their constitutional oath and make these arrests. If they refuse to do it, by the power of the people of the United States and the people’s grand jury, they don’t want to do it, we will. … We the people will find a way.”

However, on the Facebook page, the group said that Conlon “has no authority to speak on behalf of RideForTheConstitution.org.”

The group says that it will not do anything “unlawful.”

“Remember people.....this MUST be a peaceful event. Although Earl riled up a sensational title, he stepped out of bounds of our peaceful intent and methods. DHS would love to have a reason to use their bullets.”

Former country music star and event organizer Zeeda Andrews said that the three-day event is “a three-day traffic jam,” but it is unclear in what capacity Andrea is representing the group.
