Half a dozen organizations and businesses have come together to put on the second annual Tri-State Area Job Fair in Port Jervis on June 7. It will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Roosa Fleming VFW Post 161, 47 Owen Street in Port Jervis.

Last year 27 employers participated and by May 22, 19 had signed up. “We’re not giving up yet, we know that we’re going to get more,” said Anne Horsham, one of the organizers.

The deadline for employers to register is May 27. There is no fee to attend.

The employers coming to the fair will be posted on the Tri-State Area Job Fair Facebook page: facebook.com/TriStateJobFair.

Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes and dress for an interview.

A Mary Kay beauty consultant will be giving a makeup demonstration and talk about dressing to impress during the fair.

Starting June 1, Amanda Parish, a career coach for Access: Supports for Living will offer free resume help at Empowering Port Jervis, 11 Fowler Street starting at 5:00 p.m. This will continue the first Wednesday of the month thereafter.

Members from Easter Seals, Empowering Port Jervis, Access: Supports for Living, The Salvation Army, Orange-Ulster BOCES, and Capability Partnership, Inc. make up the planning committee of the Fair.

Coffee and donuts will be provided during the fair, complements of The Salvation Army.
