“Board Here” signs have popped up in subway stations signalling where to best transfer onto the 4, 5, 6 subway lines and other stations.

The signs, courtesy of the Efficient Passenger Project, were placed Feb. 9, with plans to roll out more transfer tips. According to EPP’s website, the project is “the simplest way to help you efficiently navigate the New York City subway system.”

“This is an independent project aimed at facilitating a faster, more enjoyable commute. Please ride responsibly,” EPP’s website states. All EPP signs are marked with an EPP sticker.

The signs aren’t Metropolitan Transportation Authority-sanctioned, and may soon be removed. MTA Spokesperson Kevin Ortiz told WNYC the signs may cause over-crowding on certain train cars. Ortiz confirmed MTA was planning on removing the signs.
