A male was shot near a high school in Scarborough, eastern Toronto, on March 28, prompting the school to temporarily shut down.

The police responded to reports of a shooting near Guildwood Parkway and Livingston Road, where they found the male victim. He didn’t receive any life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson from the Toronto Police Service told The Epoch Times that the man was “grazed” by the gunshot.

The shooting took place several hundred metres from the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate Institute, though the police said in a Twitter post that it didn’t occur on school property.
The school announced a temporary lockdown due to police investigation in the area. The lockdown was lifted at around 3 p.m. Monday, according to the Toronto District School Board.

Police have not confirmed any suspects while the investigation is ongoing.
