A tornado and waterspout were spotted in Pinellas County, Florida, and in Tampa Bay, according to accounts posted on Twitter.

Twitter user Grouper22 posted a photo of the tornado, which was a waterspout, as he was driving in “@TampaBayTraffic.”

Another Twitter user, Micah Grimes, spotted a waterspout in northern Pinellas County, near where Tampa is located.

It is unclear if the waterspout and tornado are the same one. TampaBay.com suggested that it appears the tornado and waterspout were one and the same.

“I saw it and I didn’t want to [get] any further,” said local man Randy Holley, who got out to look at the tornado, according to TampaBay.com. “I feel like I want to have an intact car, and I want to have dinner tonight.”

Meteorologist Bobby Deskins tweeted that a waterspout was spotted in Oldsmar, located near Tampa in Pinellas County.

The National Weather Service has not yet confirmed the tornado, but it said strong thunderstorms will affect the Tampa area, including northwestern Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties.

It said that “frequent lightning” is expected and winds will reach 35 to 45 miles per hour.
