The tornado warning was issued for northwest of Toronto, including Innisfil, New Tecumseth and Angus has ended, according to Environment Canada. A funnel cloud was spotted near Orangeville earlier in the day.

UPDATE: CP24 tweeted that tornado warnings for Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Caledon, Mississauga, Brampton, Newmarket, and Georgina also ended

Environment Canada earlier said that “storm spotters have reported a funnel cloud just north of Orangeville and it is moving to the south or southeast at 30 km/h.”

The declaration comes after the agency issued a several thunderstorm watch for the greater Toronto area on Wednesday afternoon.

It said that high winds, large hail, and torrential rains are a possibility until the late afternoon on Thursday.

The thunderstorm watch affects Hamilton to just east of Ottawa in Ontario.

Officials say that in the event of a tornado warning, locals should take cover in a sturdy building on the lowest floor--preferably one without windows.
