A possible tornado was spotted near tornado near Lakehurst in New Jersey on Monday afternoon, according to reports.
Accuweather.com reported that the apparent tornado was heading towards Toms River.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for south-central Monmouth County and northern Ocean County in southern New Jersey, said the National Weather Service.
The warning was issued until 6:15 p.m. The storm, the agency said, is capable of producing damaging winds.
However, the Service did not mention a tornado watch.
