Spencer Sanders threw for 391 yards and hit Bryson Green on the game-winning, 41-yard touchdown pass as No. 11 Oklahoma State rallied to beat No. 20 Texas 41–34 on Saturday, Oct. 22, in a Big 12 Conference game in Stillwater, Okla.

Oklahoma State (6–1, 3–1 Big 12) held the Longhorns to just three points after halftime in charging back from a two-touchdown deficit late in the second quarter. The Cowboys limited Texas to 172 yards in the second half.

Sanders was 34–for–57 passing with two touchdowns and an interception while also running for 43 yards. Green had five catches for 133 yards and Dominic Richardson racked up three rushing scores for Oklahoma State.

Visiting Texas committed 14 penalties for 119 yards while Oklahoma State was not assessed a penalty in the game.

Bijan Robinson ran for 140 yards on 24 carries and caught a 41-yard scoring pass for Texas (5–3, 3–2), which had a three-game win streak snapped. Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers was just 19–for–49 passing for 319 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

No. 2 Ohio State 54, Iowa 10

The Buckeyes’ normally potent red zone attack was held in check, but their defense came to the rescue long enough for the offense to get on track in a big win over Iowa in Columbus, Ohio.

C.J. Stroud, held to 105 passing yards and no touchdowns in the first half, threw four TDs in the second as the Buckeyes (7–0, 3–0 Big Ten) pulled away. He was 20–for–30 for 286 yards with one interception. Ohio State had four drives start inside the Iowa 35 that netted only four field goals for the No. 1 scoring offense nationally (48.8 points per game).

The only touchdown for Iowa (3–4, 1–3) was a strip sack of Stroud and a fumble recovery return of 11 yards by Joe Evans to put the Hawkeyes ahead 7–3 within the first two minutes of the game.

No. 3 Tennessee 65, UT Martin 24

Hendon Hooker passed for 276 yards and three touchdowns in less than two quarters and the Volunteers steamrolled the visiting Skyhawks in a nonconference matchup.

Tight end Princeton Fant rushed for two touchdowns and threw a scoring pass for the Volunteers (7–0). Jalin Hyatt caught seven passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns, Squirrel White had five receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown and Ramel Keyton caught five passes for 77 yards and two scores as Tennessee soared past the Skyhawks, who are ranked 14th in FCS.

Dresser Winn passed for 301 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for the Skyhawks (4–3), who dropped to 0–12 against SEC teams and 1–30 against FBS programs. George Qualls Jr. had two touchdown receptions and Colton Dowell caught seven passes for 112 yards.

No. 5 Clemson 27, No. 14 Syracuse 21

Will Shipley ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns as the Tigers rallied past the visiting Orange in ACC action.

Phil Mafah contributed 94 rushing yards and a score as Clemson (8–0, 6–0 ACC) won its 38th straight home game, setting a new ACC record, despite committing four turnovers and forcing only one—an interception by RJ Mickens with 15 seconds left to seal the win.

Garrett Shrader went 18 of 26 for 167 yards with a passing TD and a rushing score for Syracuse (6–1, 3–1), which squandered a 14-point, first-half lead. The Orange only gave standout running back Sean Tucker five carries, which resulted in 54 yards.

No. 6 Alabama 30, No. 24 Mississippi State 6

Bryce Young threw two touchdown passes, the defense was dominant and the host Crimson Tide rebounded from their first loss by pounding the Bulldogs in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Young completed 21 of 35 passes for 249 yards, with scoring tosses to JoJo Earle and Traeshon Holden. Jahmyr Gibbs ran for a score for Alabama (7–1, 4–1 SEC). The defense bounced back by grounding the visitors’ “Air Raid” offense, allowing 293 total yards and a 1-yard touchdown run by Jo'quavious Marks on the game’s final play.

Mississippi State’s Will Rogers, who has five starts this season that produced at least 313 passing yards, went 30 of 60 for 231 yards but had trouble moving into the red zone. The victory was the Crimson Tide’s 15th consecutive win over Mississippi State (5–3, 2–3), which entered as a 21-point underdog.

LSU 45, No. 7 Ole Miss 20

Jayden Daniels ran for three touchdowns and threw two scoring passes as the host Tigers handed the Rebels their first loss of the season in Baton Rouge, La.

Daniels, who had three touchdown runs and three touchdown passes in a 45–35 victory at Florida a week earlier, passed for 248 yards and ran for a game-high 121 yards. LSU (6–2, 4–1 SEC) joined Ole Miss (7–1, 3–1) and No. 6 Alabama as the only one-loss teams in the SEC West.

Jaxson Dart passed for 284 yards and Malik Heath had eight catches for 145 yards to lead the Rebels, but they were outscored 42–3 after taking a two-touchdown lead in the second quarter.

No. 8 TCU 38, No. 17 Kansas State 28

Max Duggan threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns as the host Horned Frogs erased an 18-point first-half deficit to topple the Wildcats in Fort Worth, Texas.

Duggan completed 17 of 26 passes, finding Quentin Johnston for a 55-yard catch-and-run score with 3:45 left in the third quarter that gave the Horned Frogs (7–0, 4–0 Big 12) the lead for good at 31–28.

TCU’s defense chipped in by pitching a second-half shutout and intercepting a pair of passes after backup quarterback Will Howard shredded it during the first half. Howard, who missed some second-half time with an injury, finished 13 of 20 for 225 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Kansas State (5–2, 3–1).

No. 10 Oregon 45, No. 9 UCLA 30

Bo Nix threw for 283 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Ducks to a win over the Bruins at Eugene, Ore.

Oregon (6–1, 4–0 Pac-12) ended the day as the only undefeated team in conference play and won its 23rd straight game at Autzen Stadium. Bucky Irving rushed for 107 yards and caught a touchdown pass, while Troy Franklin had eight catches for 132 yards and two TDs for the Ducks.

UCLA (6–1, 3–1) got 262 yards passing and two touchdowns from Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The Bruins also had 151 rushing yards from Zach Charbonnet.

No. 13 Wake Forest 43, Boston College 15

Sam Hartman threw for 313 yards and five touchdowns as the Demon Deacons downed the Eagles in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Jahmal Banks and Taylor Morin each caught two of Hartman’s touchdown tosses, helping the Demon Deacons (6–1, 2–1 ACC) earn their third straight win.

Hartman (25–for–40 passing), who also rushed for a score, found seven different receivers in the game. For the Eagles (2–5, 1–4), Zay Flowers made 10 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown from Phil Jurkovec. The BC quarterback was 20–for–38 passing and also rushed for a score.

No. 16 Penn State 45, Minnesota 17

Sean Clifford threw four touchdowns and Nicholas Singleton rushed for two scores to fuel the Nittany Lions to a victory over the Golden Gophers in State College, Pa.

Clifford celebrated the crowd’s “White Out” by completing 23 of 31 passes for 295 yards and connecting on scoring strikes to Theo Johnson, Tyler Warren, Parker Washington and Mitchell Tinsley. Washington had seven catches for 70 yards, and Johnson added five grabs for 75 yards.

Singleton rushed for 79 yards for Penn State (6–1, 3–1 Big Ten). Mohamed Ibrahim rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Gophers (4–3, 1–3), who have dropped three in a row.

No. 21 Cincinnati 29, SMU 27

Charles McClelland rushed for 129 yards on 16 carries and the Bearcats survived a late comeback to take down the Mustangs in Dallas to win their sixth straight game.

Trailing 29–14, SMU (3–4, 1–2 AAC) made it a one-possession game when Preston Stone found RJ Maryland for a 16-yard touchdown with 5:09 left to play.

The Mustangs then forced a three-and-out and drove 82 yards in nine plays, with Tyler Lavine scoring from 1 yard out to make it 29–27. The two-point conversion attempt failed, and Cincinnati (6–1, 3–0) ran out the clock.

No. 25 Tulane 38, Memphis 28

Jha'Quan Jackson’s 90-yard punt return highlighted a 35-point first half, leading the Green Wave to a victory over the visiting Tigers.

After entering the Top 25 last Sunday for the first time since 1998, Tulane (7–1, 4–0 AAC) rode that momentum by scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter and adding two more in the next for an explosive first half.

In losing its third straight, Memphis (4–4, 2–3) rallied behind Seth Henigan, who finished 26 of 41 for 312 yards with three scoring passes—two to Eddie Lewis, one to Koby Drake—and two interceptions. Brandon Thomas had a rushing TD.
