With just 52 seconds left, Air Force chose to go for the win with a two-point conversion and came up just short, giving Toledo a 42–41 victory in the Military Bowl in Washington, D.C.

After a 33-yard touchdown catch by Zach Kauth, Air Force lined up for the extra point to tie the game. Holder David Baska picked up the ball to run the option, but when he realized he had nowhere to go, he pitched the ball to kicker Parker Herrington. The kicker mishandled the low pitch and inadvertently kicked it out of bounds, sealing the team’s fate.

Toledo scored over 40 points for the sixth straight game.
