An explosion or boom in TOledo, Ohio late Wednesday was caused by gasoline, officials said.

The boom shook walls in north and east Toledo.

People started calling into the police and sheriff’s office around 10:40 p.m. about what happened.

But dispatchers told the Toledo Blade that the boom was caused by crushing cars at OniSource Corp., a metal recycling business on North Detroit Ave. Gasoline vapors in one of the vehicles exploded during the crushing.
