On April 6, The Epoch Times reported that the Chinese regime had hurriedly covered up the evidence of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners at a hospital in the Sujiatun District of Shenyang City in Liaoning Province.

According to press reports, the U.S. government announced on Friday that it had toured the facility at Sujiatun twice and found “no evidence that the site is being used for any function other than as a normal public hospital.”

We would have been very surprised if a mere tour of the facilities had yielded any other result.

The Epoch Times first reported on March 9 that organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners was taking place at Sujiatun, and our coverage of the atrocities taking place there has helped drive calls for an investigation.

We are glad to see that the U.S. has now taken the first steps to try in its own name to uncover the truth of what has been happening in China’s hospitals and labor camps these past five years. Much more needs to be done.

The Chinese regime remained silent for three weeks as we reported more and more details about the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

We have learned since that during those three weeks practitioners were transferred out of Sujiatun, and a cover-up was devised. The area was flooded with security agents pretending to be vendors, passerby, and tricycle drivers in order to deceive the journalists and investigators expected to appear in Sujiatun. In order to provide “legal” cover, a new directive on organ transplants was issued—although it will not go into effect until July 1.

‘Before the End of April’

At the same time, multiple sources report a sudden upsurge in transplant operations.

The Sound of Hope radio network called doctors at various hospitals in China, and were told that if a patient wanted a transplant, he or she should come in right away.

One doctor explained, “We should have a lot of organs before the end of April. We are getting a larger and larger supply of organs, but you have to grasp the opportunity. Do you know what I mean? After this period of time, the supply will become very slim.”

Doctors volunteered the organs came from “living human beings” “in their 20s and 30s” who are “very healthy.”

A doctor explained that transplant teams were working “around the clock” right now to handle the sudden surge in operations.

Tapes of these interviews are available for listening on the Epoch Times website.

This sudden increase in transplant operations is widespread. The Epoch Times had earlier reported, based on phone interviews, that hospitals and transplant centers in Heilongjiang, Hunan, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Yunnan, Anhui, Shan'xi and Xinjiang are operating overtime to perform transplant operations.

Why are so many hospitals working overtime on transplants? Because the Chinese regime is slaughtering practitioners, either to eliminate those who might have knowledge of the organ harvesting that has taken place or simply to make as much money as possible in the time remaining.

What Can Be Done

The Epoch Times stands behind its reporting, and urges the U.S. government to conduct a more thorough and wide-ranging investigation than visiting Sujiatun for a guided tour.

The Epoch Times and the Sound of Hope have managed to verify, simply by calling up those doing the transplants, that organs are being harvested from living human beings for the purpose of transplantation.

A U.S. investigation should involve direct interviews, unsupervised by Chinese regime officials, of health personnel throughout China.

It should encompass all hospitals and transplant centers implicated thus far in the marketing of the organs of living human beings.

It should also encompass all Chinese labor camps—the source for the organ harvesting factories throughout China.

This investigation should demand answers to such questions as why a nation that in the seven years from 1991-1998 only performed 78 liver transplants performed 3,000 such liver transplants in 2003?

The demand for answers needs to begin immediately. Untold thousands have died horrible deaths in order to provide organs for China’s transplant factories.

If the U.S. stirs itself, it can save the lives of thousands and shed light for the whole world to see on the mass, state-sponsored atrocities the Chinese Communist Party has perpetuated.
