There are few places where the decor is quite as cozy and beautiful as that of the English Countryside! Pretty accessories, wallpaper and mixed prints are all staples of this style, and it’s very easy to recreate.
Toile wallpaper is a great way to start for an English Country interior. These pretty patterns make a gorgeous backdrop, and add depth and interest to the room. Next, it’s time to start furnishing and accessorizing. Try adding a cozy sofa with lots of pillows and blankets, as well as wooden chairs. And don’t be afraid to mix prints and colors -- especially larger floral prints with smaller ones, and - believe it or not - florals with plaid!
This room certainly has a lot going on, but it’s easier than it may seem to mix so many colors and patterns. The trick is to decide on a major color scheme -- in this case, it’s light blue and a vivid red. These hues are repeated throughout the room to create a sense of harmony and balance.
For accessories, go for rustic items, ceramic wall hangings, and some classic English staples, such as tea sets!
