Thomas Kenneth Owens, also known as TK Owens--a former Tennessee Senate candidate--was arrested over the weekend for trying to having his uncle killed, according to reports.

His uncle is a Carter County Sheriff’s Office deputy, reported the Johnson City Press.

Owens had a disagreement with his uncle, who is a full-time pastor and a part-time deputy, over something unspecified, and an informant came to the sheriff’s office saying Owens was looking to contract with someone to kill his uncle, Ernie Widby.

Owens gave someone who was working undercover $500 and planned to pay $2,000 more after the hit was completed. Owens was arrested after the payment was made.

Owens is also in trouble for allegedly exposing himself to a minor, and has a final hearing set for October 3.

Owens ran for senate in 2012, and worked as a reported at WJHL from 2001 and 2004.
