A third student has died in the Ohio high-school shooting on Monday, media reports said on Tuesday.
Demetrius Hewlin, a junior at Chardon High School, was pronounced dead at a local hospital, reported the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper.
“We are very saddened by the loss of our son and others in our Chardon community,” his family said in a statement obtained by the newspaper.
“Demetrius was a happy young man who loved life and his family and friends. We will miss him very much but we are proud that he will be able to help others through organ donation.”
Another student who was shot, 17-year-old Russell King Jr., died early on Tuesday. Daniel Parmertor, 16, died on Monday, according to the publication. The other students who were shot are recovering.
T.J. Lane, the suspect in the shooting, was expected to appear in court on Tuesday. In the incident, students said Lane walked up to a group of students at the school’s cafeteria in the morning and opened fire.
