A couple of students at Syracuse University decided to place a few steaks and salmon under a lava flow, and they got predictable results:

However, what happens to the salmon in the video, as one Redditor said, is an “absolute crime.”

Later, they put the steaks in the lava to see what happens.

As you can see, there’s a lot of flaming meat. Maybe this was done to simulate what lava might do to actual flesh?

“They went through all that trouble of making lava and a grill just to realize that neither of them could cook,” wrote one Redditor.

Also note the lava that spills onto the ground during the experiment.

Lava ranges from 700 to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit---meaning, it’s not an optimal way to cook much of anything.
