Which companies pay their employees the most in the United States?

The online employment website Glassdoor published a report listing the highest-paying companies in America. Technology and consulting companies dominated the list.

Number one is Chicago-based consulting firm A.T. Kearney with a $167,534 median compensation. Strategy& came second with $160,000, while Juniper Networks ranked third with $157,000.

The report is based on each company’s median total compensation, including base pay, commissions, tips, bonuses, and all other forms of compensation.

“This report reinforces that high pay continues to be tied to in-demand skills and higher education, which in part, is why we see several companies on this list among the consulting and technology industries,” said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor Chief Economist.

Salaries are sky-high at consulting companies due to consultants’ personal networks, reputations, skills, and knowledge, according to Glassdoor. And in technology space, competition for talent and shortage of highly skilled workers are the key drivers for the record salaries.
