Middle Earth Goes LEGO
The Academy Award-winning trilogy The Lord of the Rings and the upcoming two films based on The Hobbit books will be brought to life via the popular children’s construction toy brand LEGO, according to a statement on the company’s website last week.
“These films give life to amazing worlds and characters and we are thrilled to bring fans these products that deliver an imaginative play experience befitting of these beloved properties,” said Karen McTier, executive vice president, domestic licensing and worldwide marketing, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in a statement.
The first batch of construction sets, including scenes and familiar characters, will be rolled out globally beginning in the United States in June 2012.
