Navratilova To Climb Mountain for Charity

Retired tennis superstar Martina Navratilova, recently diagnosed with breast cancer, is looking to trek to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, for charity this coming December.

The cause at hand is the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, an “organization that uses sport to aid positive social change through the pursuit of excellence, overcoming challenges, celebrating achievement and excellence, and winning against the odds,” according to a report on looktothestars.org.

Volcano Can’t Stop Diva

It seems nothing can stop Whitney Houston from a performance … not even a volcano eruption! The singer is currently on the European leg of her tour and was due for a show in Dublin this weekend.

Due to the ash clouds created by the eruption of the Iceland volcano Eyjafjallajokull, her flight from Birmingham, U.K., was canceled. The resourceful singer and her gang apparently hopped over the Irish Sea via ferryboat and made the performance in time.

Carrie Underwood Sets Record

Carrie Underwood, without a doubt the most successful of the American Idol alumni to date, set a place for herself in the Academy of Country Music Awards record books.

Last weekend, she became the first woman to win entertainer of the year twice in a row.

After taking the title last year, the lovely Ms. Underwood again was awarded the honor after beating out such stars as Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, the Zac Brown Band, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait, and Keith Urban.

Melania Trump … on QVC?

As out of place as it may seem, the super-glamorous Melania Trump, wife of New York real estate mogul (and we can’t forget TV star) Donald Trump, will be launching a line of affordable jewelry on cable shopping channel QVC.

The line, which will feature watches and costume jewelry, will make its debut Friday, April 30.
