Lady Gaga Sells Prayer Bracelets for Japan Aid

Eccentric singer and entertainer Lady Gaga has shown the world her compassionate side. In the wake of the recent earthquake and tsunami tragedy in Japan, Gaga is urging fans to pray for Japan and help support tsunami relief efforts by buying a newly created bracelet for $5 on her website. The full cost, or even a higher amount of your choosing, goes toward aid. The red and white wristband has “We Pray For Japan” in both English and Japanese.

More Troubles for Broadway-Bound ‘Spider-Man’ Show

The plagued production of “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” has yet again been given a new opening date— June 14, and is canceling preview performances from April 19 to May 11. The preview performances will resume on May 12.

These delays come in conjunction with the recent additions to the creative team, announced last week by the producers, undoubtedly leading to a major overhaul of the show.

According to the show’s blog site, Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris stated that “Philip William McKinley and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa have joined the creative team to help implement new staging and book rewrites, respectively.”

The announcement further states that the expanded creative team also includes musical consultant Paul Bogaev and sound designer Peter Hylenski, “both of whom have already been working on improving the musical arrangements and sound quality (respectively) over the past few weeks, thereby vastly enhancing the audience experience.”

Singer and expectant mom Jewel, 36, was involved in a car accident last week in Texas with a volunteer fire truck that, according to a report in PopEater, was being driven by a local official en route to a fire.

PopEater reports that after her release from the hospital, Jewel tweeted, “Hey everyone - just got released from the ER & my Dr’s office - everything is fine - me & the baby r ok - thanx 4 all your thoughts & prayers.”

She later went on to say that her car saved her life, tweeting again to fans in a statement: “One thing I do know is my car saved my & baby’s life - definitely going 2 get another Cadillac SRX! It absorbed all the damage & kept me safe!”
