1. The film is based on a 2012 NOVEL by John Green. ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is based on the love story between two teens Hazel and Gus who meet at a Cancer Support Group, and fall in love. Hazel’s companion is an oxygen tank which travels with her everywhere, while Gus makes jokes about his prosthetic leg. The novel is still on the best seller list. (The idea for the book title came from a quote in a Shakespearian play “Julius Caesar” that reads: “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves…”)

2. AUTHOR of the novel, John Green, started his story-telling career as part of the VlogBrothers which he runs with brother Hank Green. The internet based show, which started in 2007, has already over 2.1 million subscribers. John Green has also written ‘Looking for Alaska’ (2005), ‘An Abundance of Katherines’ (2006), and ‘Paper Towns’ (2008). Green also started VidCon, which is the Youtube equivalent of ComicCon.

We already know Woodley and Elgort as the siblings Tris and Caleb from “Divergent,” the 19-year-old Wolff has been in films like “Stuck in Love,” and “Palo Alto,” and Laura Dern is best known as the leading lady of the original “Jurassic Park.

4. AN INSTRUMENTAL SCENE in this film is shot in Amsterdam where the two characters will travel. This scene will be a turning point for both Hazel and Gus, and those who have read the novel already know the importance of the scene.

5. THE SOUNDTRACK for the film consist of songs by many notable and recently emerging artists. They include tracks from Birdy, Ed Sheeran (who sang the ending-credits soundtrack “I See Fire” for the second hobbit film), Jake Bugg, Grouplove, Kodaline, Tom Odell, Charli XCX, Ray LaMontagne, Lykke Li, M83, and others. After Sheeran heard about the film, he wanted to contribute in any way possible, so he wrote “All of the Stars” which will play during the ending credits of this film.

6. THE TRAILER for the film, which was posted on the 20th Century Fox Youtube channel broke the record for the most liked movie trailer of all time with more than 300,000 likes and over 20 million views.

7. “The Fault in Our Stars” is not just any love story, it’s an EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER that will make you cry, laugh, be mad, and be sad. It’s also packed with tons of beautiful quotes that only add to the drama.
