Editor’s note: The Epoch Times publishes here direct translations of statements made by Chinese people who renounced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliate youth organizations. Statements such as these are submitted to the Chinese language Epoch Times, Dajiyuan. The movement to renounce, withdraw from, or quit the CCP, called “Tuidang” in Chinese, began in late 2004, soon after The Epoch Times published the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” an editorial series that explores the nature and history of the CCP. The statements offer a rare and candid glimpse of history in the making. Chinese people are turning their backs on the Communist Party, choosing conscience over convenience, and are peacefully ushering in a future China, free of Party rule.

The following is a selection of “Tuidang” (quitting the Party) statements made by Chinese nationals on Aug. 4 to Aug.  6.

My Statement of Quitting the Chinese Communist Party and Its Affiliates

I am in the communications business. In the bidding process of construction projects, there is always bribery involved. We have to treat the officials to nice meals. Some projects are rejected just because there were not enough bribes given. The officials are always asking for money. This political party is too corrupt, and the sooner it collapses the better. I want to quit the Young Pioneers and distance myself from the Chinese Communist Party.

Nine People Quit the Young Pioneers and the Youth League

We think that the Chinese Communist Party is too corrupt, inhumane, barbaric, and crazy. Both heaven and earth condemn it and God is eliminating it! We want to break away from it and we take this opportunity to have a new life. Hence we quit the CCP and all of its affiliates.

I Quit the Young Pioneers and the Youth League

The armed police have brutally suppressed tens of thousands of residents in my home town. I have lost my belief in the Chinese Communist Party.

I Quit from the Youth League

Watching the Chinese Communist Party illegally demolished our homes, I felt so helpless. I could not have hated the Communist Party more. I hope to see it crashing soon.

Quitting the Communist Party and Its Affiliates

I am 82 years old. I used to be a supervisor in a power plant and a coal mine. I was once named a national model laborer. Before I retired, I served in a county-level People’s Congress. Now I receive 4,000 yuan (US$660) per month, and all my medical expenses are waived. For an ordinary citizen, I live a pretty good life. However, the Chinese Communist Party is deeply corrupted and treats the people like it’s enemies. The gap between rich and poor is outrageous and the protests never stop. Heaven should eliminating the Communist Party so China can have hope. I solemnly declare that I quit from the Party and all of its affiliates. In my remaining years, I yearn to see the Party disintegrate and good fortune return to China.

I Quit From the Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers

The CCP has turned China into a mess. I am a victim of the bad social system. I entered a state company in 2006 after I graduated from college. The entire state enterprise system is all about having connections. If you have connections, after you graduate from college, you can be promoted to supervising department in two months. If you don’t have connections, you have two choices: one, you will always work on unimportant things; two, you can train at being eloquent, good at fawning over and flattering your supervisors, and perhaps you too will be promoted one day.

A capable person may work until he drops and no one will feel sorry for him. He won’t get any overtime [pay] either, let alone promotions. A hardworking person’s life is only useful for his labor, and the profits he generates go to the incompetent people at the top.

After I quit my job, I went to England to study. Now I often send baby formula to my brother in China because he dares not give his two children the formula made in China. There are way too many food safety violations in China.

China has so many problems. I only mentioned a few from my own personal experience. I want to quit from the Chinese Communist Party, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers.

I Was Young and Stupid and Believed in the Party’s Lies

I once fanatically followed communism. I was young and stupid and believed very much in the Party’s lies. I believed that only the Chinese Communist Party could change China and make it powerful. I actively participated in all the CCP’s activities. I joined the Young Pioneers, the Youth League, and then the Communist Party. I felt that it was a glorious thing to do, and being admitted to these organizations showed that one had lofty goals.

I gradually saw the Communist Party’s dark side and deceptive nature. Unfortunately, I lived in this society and passively ignored everything around me. However, I stopped taking part in the Party’s activities and paying the membership fees. Later I read the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” and saw The Epoch Times’ website for quitting the Chinese Communist Party. I then understood the evil nature of the Party and felt ashamed that I had once worked for it. I hereby solemnly declare that I quit the Chinese Communist Party, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. I want to be guilt-free man.

I Quit the Communist Party, Its Affiliates, and All of Its Corrupt Organizations

Once you understand the truth you must quit the CCP, otherwise you are not being responsible to yourself. I want to ask more people to take a serious look at it for themselves and understand the true face of the CCP and quit the devil’s organizations.

I Quit the Chinese Communist Party and Its Affiliates

The Chinese Communist Party is at the end of its life. Quit it and all of its evil organizations. Be a real pioneer and a role model for future generations.
