The Thanksgiving travel forecast for Chicago shows that there could be some lake-effect snow as a storm moves across the central United States and Midwest starting on Wednesday.

The snow could potentially cause delays for people trying to travel to the city on Thanksgiving.

But on Thanksgiving day, it will be chilly--in the 20s--but there will be clear skies, according to Accuweather.com.

In Minneapolis and surrounding areas, Wednesday should be very cold but with little chance of snowfall. Thanksgiving day will be partly sunny.

“In the Midwest, an area of low pressure brings light snow and blustery winds from eastern Iowa into Wisconsin and northern Illinois and eventually into Michigan, but should not cause any major travel problems,” the Weather Channel writes.

According to AAA, some 43.4 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
