Thanksgiving Day is Thursday, Nov. 24, and it’s a federal holiday—and a number of major retailers are closed down for the day.
Many of the stores—notably—are open Black Friday, the day after the holiday, with deals.
Here is a list of stores that are open or closed for Thanksgiving:
Walmart is open from 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Store hours are open 24 hours per day until supplies last. The Walmart Black Friday sale officially starts online starting 12:01 a.m. PDT on Thanksgiving Day. The Black Friday sale starts when stores reopen at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving. But line up to get in the door early.
Kmart is open from 6 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. It closes at 10 p.m. Black Friday.
Dollar General is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thanksgiving, but hours vary from location to location.
JC Penney is open 3 p.m. Thanksgiving and won’t close until 10 p.m. Black Friday.
Best Buy opens 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and closes at 12 midnight. It will reopen at 9 a.m. Black Friday and close 10 p.m.
Toys R Us opens 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and will remain open until 11 p.m. on Black Friday.
Macy’s opens 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. It will close at 3 a.m. Black Friday and then reopen at 9 a.m. on the same day before closing at 10 p.m. Store hours vary, however. AP reported that Macy’s is opening one hour earlier on Thanksgiving 2016, compared with 2015.
Sears opens 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and closes at 12 a.m. Black Friday. It’s open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Black Friday.
Target opens 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and will remain open indefinitely until supplies last. Store hours vary.
Home Depot is open 6 am. Black Friday until 9 p.m. Not open Thanksgiving.
Staples is open 6 am. Black Friday until 9 p.m. Not open Thanksgiving.
Kohl’s is open at 6 p.m on Thanksgiving.
