Texas: Tornado Warning for Sherman, Hansford County

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Sherman, Hansford counties on the Texas Panhandle.

The tornado warning expires at 6:30 p.m. CDT, the service said.

The agency said that meteorologists found a severe thunderstorm that can produce a tornado.

The storm is located some 9 miles south of Texhoma and 19 miles east of Stratford.

The storm is moving southeast at 40 miles per hour, and it is capable of producing large hail.

“A tornado may form at any time… take cover now. Abandon Mobile homes and vehicles for more substantial shelter. Avoid windows,” the agency warns.
