Texas shooting spree: A man’s shooting spree in the early morning of May 27 left one woman dead and five others injured.

The shooter later died after a shootout with law enforcement officials, according to the Houston CBS affiliate.

The 23-year-old North Carolina resident starting shooting from his pickup truck at random cars in central Texas, near San Angelo, about 250 miles southwest of Dallas.

His spree took the life of 41-year-old Alicia Torres, and among the injured was a sheriff.

The man moved around between shootings, firing on one couple as they sat in their vehicle outside a convenience store.

A Highway Patrol trooper and a game warden who arrived at a highway north of Eden ultimately killed the man during a shootout, according to Reuters.
