A City Hall shootout in Granbury, Texas, left the suspect dead and a sheriff’s deputy and police officer injured, it was reported.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the suspect, who was not named, was likely armed with an assault rifle.

The suspect was killed in a shootout with police near City Hall.

The incident apparently started when the suspect allegedly shot a deputy at Edgecliff Court near Lake Granbury. Authorities said that it is unclear what triggered the shooting.

The shooting prompted officers to pursue the man, who was driving in a white van, reported the Hood County News. However, it is still unclear if the shooting at Edgecliff was related to the incident at City Hall.

“We heard all these shots. We thought it was reenactors,” bystander Kent Whites told the News.
