Police body camera footage shows a Texas police officer rescuing a family from a burning home.

The Seagoville Police Department released the footage on Aug. 27, showing officer Sam Click patrolling the area before finding the garage door of a duplex on fire.

The fire was moving toward the rest of the house. NBC DFW reported that a father and his six young children were inside the home, sleeping.

Click then entered the home. “The fire department, they were minutes away and I don’t think we had minutes,” he said, according to the NBC affiliate.

Neighbors were also credited with helping rescue the father and children.

When Click arrived on the scene, a neighbor, identified as Shelby Hood, was screaming for people to wake up. “I see like a flash of light, I pulled the blinds down and I freaked, I lost it,” Hood said. “By the time I got here, the heat was so hot and the flames were so loud I couldn’t hear myself screaming.”

Hood said that she was able to wake up Jeremy Giblaint, who lived in a unit attached to the building, and he knew that his brother-in-law and six nephews were inside, NBC DFW reported.

The Dallas News reported that the American Red Cross is helping the family after their home was totally destroyed. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
“Someone wanted me to be there because they knew that I would take the correct actions and not just stand there,” Click told CBS DFW.

“He went way above and way beyond,” Seagoville Police Chief Ray Caverly said. “His actions, man it’s just amazing.”
