Teresa Giudice Getting Along With Cellmates, Including Drug Dealer: Report
A police officer talks with the driver of a truck carrying children from the home of Teresa Giudice, a cast member of Bravo's "Real Housewives of New Jersey," and her husband Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, in the Towaco section of Montville Township, N.J. Teresa Giudice is scheduled to report to a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, on Monday morning to begin serving a 15-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud. U.S. District Judge Esther Salas staggered her sentence with her husband's so they wouldn't be in prison at the same time and unable to care for their four daughters. She and her husband pleaded guilty last year and admitted hiding assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitting phony loan applications to get some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans. Teresa Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey is getting along with her four cellmates, including a convicted drug dealer, according to a new report.

Giudice, 42, is serving a 15-month prison sentence for fraud. She and her husband Joe Giudice were permitted to serve their sentences separately, so one parent could stay with their children. Joe received a 41-month sentence.

An insider at the Danbury Federal Correctional Institute in Connecticut told Radar Online that Teresa is sharing a cell with four other women.

She seems to be getting along well with them, including “a convicted drug dealer.”

Teresa, as a reality television star, is trying to keep a low profile.

“She hides out in the chapel a lot praying,” the insider said. “She’s staying somewhat low-key so far.”

But a source told Us Weekly that it’s not working.

“All anyone is talking about is that woman — even the staff,” the source said.

From the moment that Giudice entered the facility on January 5, she’s been hounded by women trying to align themselves with her.

“The vultures who want to be her bestie were all over her,” said one source.

Meanwhile, Giudice’s lawyer James Leonard Jr. slammed “bogus stories” that have been coming out about his client.

“The misinformation being published by various media outlets regarding my client and the details of her incarceration are blatantly false,” he told E! News. “Whoever is buying these bogus stories, you’re wasting your money; whoever is reading them, you’re reading pure fiction; and whoever is selling them, legal action will be taken.”

He seemed to be specifically targeting the reports that claimed Teresa is going through withdrawal due to an alleged prescription pill addiction.

“The reality is that Teresa is acclimating well to her current surroundings and she is keeping to herself. She has told me repeatedly that she is doing fine and that she is appreciative of the support she has gotten from her fans,” he added. “She asks everyone to respect her privacy and that of her family during the coming weeks and months and she looks forward to being reunited with Joe and her girls.”
