Ten Pakistani militants were killed in North Waziristan on Tuesday from U.S. drone attacks.

A senior U.S. security official told AFP that over “eight U.S. drones fired some 18 missiles at multiple militant targets in Datta Khel village.” The North Waziristan region is known as a base for numerous Taliban militants.

The official said that 10 militants were killed in the missile strikes, which local intelligence confirmed. The region, located near the Afghan border, has been the target of many U.S. drone attacks in the past several months as the U.S. has been targeting Taliban leader, Hakimullah Mehsud.
