Slovenia has joined other countries in Europe in planning to ban social media for children, with the Balkan nation preparing legislation to stop under-15s from accessing the platforms.

Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister Matej Arcon told a news conference on Feb. 5 that the move had been initiated by the Education Ministry, and that specialists in education and digital technologies would be involved in drafting the law.
