Sam Altman, CEO and co-founder of OpenAI, has been fired by the company behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT, the company’s board of directors said on Nov. 17.

“Mr. Altman’s departure follows a deliberative review process by the board, which concluded that he was not consistently candid in his communications with the board, hindering its ability to exercise its responsibilities,” the artificial intelligence company stated.
